Stents (non covered)
From Which Medical Device
The manufacturer describes the device as a self-expanding Nitinol stent system designed for the palliative treatment of malignant neoplasms in the biliary tree. It is made of a nickel titanium alloy (Nitinol) and comes pre-mounted on a 6F over-the-wire delivery system. The stent is cut from a Nitinol tube into an open lattice design and has tantalum radiopaque markers at the proximal and distal ends of the stent. On deployment, the stent achieves its predetermined diameter and exerts a constant outward force to establish patency in the biliary ducts.
