Description

From Which Medical Device

The Corin MiniHip is a short-stemmed uncemented device intended to be more conservative on the femoral side than conventional femoral components, and requiring a mid-neck resection. The system is compatible with Corin’s Cormet resurfacing, and total hip systems, allowing some intraoperative flexibility. Both metal-on-metal and ceramic bearings are available.

The stem is titanium, with Corin’s cementless osteoconductive Bi-coat surface. This surface consists of two layers, one of pure titanium, and the second of hydroxyapatite which encourages bone ongrowth. The device has fins for initial stability.

Promotional literature states that it is more suitable for active patients and promotes an earlier return to activity.

There are no published results.
