Femoral stem - short
From Which Medical Device
The Zimmer Fitmore stem system is a curved, short (44 to 60 mm in length), uncemented femoral stem with a trapezoidal cross section and triple taper geometry, available since 2008. The device is manufactured from Zimmer’s Protasul™ titanium alloy, has a proximal Ti-plasma coating and is distally rough blasted. It comes in a series of sizes (known as families) to suit different femoral anatomies and with a selection of offsets. The stem is designed to fit the calcar on the medial proximal femur, and to touch the lateral cortex, without excavation of the lateral bone. The latter is difficult when using an anterior approach, and so the stem is particularly suited for this (1). This is therefore a relatively bone-sparing implant. It has a 12/14 taper.
There are no published results.
