Sono-Sheath™ is a thin polymer sheath with an echogenic tip which can be placed over a biopsy needle, providing on the spot, unmatched ultrasound visibility. Sono-Sheath™ works with all manual or (semi) automated biopsy needles. It’s universal applicability and ease of use mean that no change is required to the current clinical routine.
Visualizing the needle during US-guided biopsies is a clinical challenge. Poor needle visibility can lead to multiple failed passes, tissue damage, longer treatment times, false-negative biopsy outcomes resulting in delayed cancer treatment and reduced life expectancy.
Sono-Sheath™ is a totally novel product concept, creating a whole new market segment of disposable echogenic add-on products. The Sono-Sheath product line will soon be completed with models for Vascular Access and Brachytherapy needles.
