The GAITRite gait analysis system is a portable instrumented mat containing multiple pressure sensors for temporospatial gait analysis. The device connects to a computer via a USB port which allows data collection and analysis. The mat can be rolled up and is quick to deploy. It comes in 14, 16, 20 and 26 foot lengths.
The device can be used with or without orthotics and walking aids.
Gait parameters derived from the device include velocity, step count, cadence, step length, and time of single and double support.
In the UK the GAITRite is distributed by EMS physio.
