This POD packing coil was shown at CIRSE 2016 in Barcelona. It has a distal segment that is said to allow tight packing/anchorage in high flow vessels followed by a softer packing segment for ‘dense, focal packing’ of the vessel. They are aiming this squarely at the type of procedure where you might reach for an Amplatzer plug.
Our Editor-in-Chef, Dr Phil Haslam said, "I would also be interested to see how well it packs compared to the Spirale coils which I find very ‘packable’'.
