From Which Medical Device
The ABSORB device is a bioresorbable scaffold designed to treat a patient's blocked vessel. Once the vessel can remain open without the extra support, ABSORB will slowly metabolise and be resorbed by the body. This device delivers everolimus, an anti-proliferative drug.
ABSORB is currently under development and is not available for sale in the United States.
