Shoulder reverse arthroplasty
From Which Medical Device
The Delta Xtend Reverse Shoulder System from Depuy-Synthes is an evolution of the Delta CTA (Cuff Tear Arthopathy) and Delta III shoulder systems. It is a total, semi-constrained shoulder arthroplasty. The reverse polarity moves the centre of rotation medially and inferiorly which increases the lever arm and tension of the deltoid to compensate for rotator cuff deficiency.
The Delta Xtend humeral stem comes as either a cemented monbloc or a modular uncemented component. The glenoid component is uncemented, using screws for primary fixation.
A Surgical Technique for the Delta XTend Shoulder can be found here.
