GraftJacket is an immunologically inert acellular scaffold consisting of collagen and extracellular protein matrices containing elastin, collagen, proteoglycans and vascular channels. GraftJacket is derived from cadaveric human dermal tissue from which the cellular components have been removed. It comes dry packaged and is hydrated for 10 minutes in normal saline or in the patient's blood. It can be used for the repair or replacement of damaged or inadequate tissue such as tendon and ligaments. Uses described in the literature include rotator cuff repair, Achilles tendon repair plantar reinforcement and repair of the hip capsule. Over time the scaffold is repopulated with host cells.
