From Which Medical Device
The NAVIO surgical system comprises a planning and navigation platform with an intelligent hand-held instrument that assists in the precise removal of material in (initially at least) unicondylar knee replacement. The navigation platform controls the speed of the burr so that it is only active within the pre-operatively determined resection area.
This robotic device was previously manufacturer by Blue Belt Technologies. The company was acquired by Smith & Nephew in 2015.
