Hybrid Stent Grafts
From Vascutek Terumo
Vascutek's Thoraflex Hybrid device consists of a gelatin sealed woven proximal Gelweave 4 branch Plexus pre-sewn to a distal stent graft. The latter is made from a thinner and less porous base woven fabric and also sealed with gelatin. The stents are of a multi-independent nitinol ring stent design, like Anconda, with radiopaque markers.
The side branches are provided to allow individual reconstruction of the aortic arch vessels and intra-operative attachment of a perfusion cannula during cardiopulmonary bypass. This permits antegrade perfusion techniques to be used.
The device is specifically designed for the treatment of aneurysm and/or dissection in the ascending thoracic aorta, aortic arch and descending thoracic aorta.
