From Which Medical Device
The SKATER Introducer System from Angiotech is designed to facilitate the placement of .035" or .038" guidewires in non-vascular procedures.
According to the manufacturer's information, the SKATER set has a hydrophilic coated co-axial dilator, radiopaque markers and a choice of .018" stainless steel or nitinol guidewires. They describe the device as a long micropuncture set which is useful for PTC, difficult access to renal PC systems and collections requiring drainage.
