This biodegradeable stent from Q3 Medical is said to have the advantages of a metal stent but will biodegrade meaning it is non permanent.
They state it has minimal recoil and shortening and the stricture does not require prior preparation.
The stent comes in 8 and 10mm diameters and can be inserted through an 8F sheath.
The stent length is 57mm and bidegrades in 1-3 months
They say it can be overdilated.
There are other stents in development with longer biodegrading times
