Dr Phil Haslam, Consultant Interventional Radiologist and Which Medical Device Founder viewed the new version of the Biopince biopsy gun at the British Society of Interventional Radiology Annual Meeting in November 2018.  The image shown was taken at the meeting.

This device permits up to 59% more tissue volume than traditional core biopsy devices. Easy specimen retrieval expels the sample when the device is re-cocked. There are variable throw lengths to enhance clinical flexibility - 13mm throw yields 9mm specimen length, 23mm throw yields 19mm specimen length, 33mm throw yields 29mm specimen length.

The Biopince features a ready to fire indicator and has a safety button which locks the device to prevent misfiring. There are centimeter markings which provide a reference for depth placement. This device can be used with optional echogenic co-axial introducer needles.
