From Which Medical Device
The Zenith Alpha is the newest addition (as at June 2014) to Cook Medical's portfolio of high-performing systems for EVAR.
The device is available in low-profile sizes from 16-20 Fr. According to Cook, the low profile, when combined with the intuitive introduction system, allows easier access and a less intrusive repair. Anchoring barbs provide the angle, configuration and beveled tip to ensure migration resistance. Self-expanding nitinol z-stents provide continuous radial force, added stability, and optimal graft-to-vessel apposition. The design of the device mimics natural anatomy and features a balance of length, stability and flexibility.
The device is not available in the US.
