From Which Medical Device
Tha Asahi Meister is a peripheral vascular guidewire. It has a stainless steel core to allow cliniclans to shape and re-shape the tip with ease. According to the manufacturer, a pre-shaped actone provides excellent shape memory and the proprietary actone construction enhances torqueability.
The device was shown at CIRSE 2016, in Barcelona. Our Editor-in-Chief, Dr Phil Haslam was there. He said, "I was most impressed by the new Asahi Meister wire which I believe is still awaiting a CE mark. The video I took on the stand demonstrates its superb torquability compared with what I believed was a Terumo GT micro wire.
