From Which Medical Device
The AccuStick II Introducer System from Boston Scientific is designed for the introduction of 038" guidewires in non-vascular procedures.
The device comprises a 21 gauge diagnostic needle, coaxial dilator/sheath assembly design and .038" heavy-duty guidewire with a choice of 'J' or straight tip shapes. An additional optional .018" kink-resistant nitinol guidewire is also available for more difficult procedures.
According to the manufacturer, the Accustick II Introducer System enhances visualisation for more accurate placement and the diagnostic needle is designed to help reduce tissue trauma.
