The INSORB skin stapler from Incisive Surgical is a device which captures the subcuticular dermis with absorbable staple made of a polylactide-polyglycolide polymer. The staple is placed inside the skin and therefore there is no puncturing of the skin, unlike with traditional stainless steel staples. Duteille et al demonstrated faster closure times using the device and equivalent cosmetic appearance compared with a subcuticular closure.
