The Signature Personalised Patient Care system is Biomet’s customised jig system for the Vanguard knee replacement. MRI or CT data are reviewed on an online planning system for final checking by the surgeon. The femoral jig positioning determines the level of the resection and the alignment of the final component in terms of varus/valgus, flexion, rotation and antero-posterior positioning. The tibial jig determines the resection level, the posterior slope and the varus/valgus positioning of the tibial component. The jig determines block position, but the cuts are performed using standard jigs.
