Just used this simulator today in direct comparison with a cadaveric flow model. It compared very well with a good degree of realism for catheterisation of the neck vessels and major abdominal vessels. I had some difficulty getting it to form a sidewinder in the arch and occasional glitches where the catheter did not register. It seemed more reliable than the Mentice device with which I have previous experience and the software/training packages are comprehensive.
A good aide to training particularly in learning the steps for changing catheters and how different shapes of catheter and wire can help in particular anatomies and clinical scenarios.
