Use two of these devices with a locking pigtail for a drain that will be very hard to accidentally remove!

Yes I agree, we cut the sharp edges off the \'strap\' once we have shortened it. Make sure you leave enough so the strap can be fed back through the mechanism when it is squeezed to release it.

Excellent fixation device. Securely grips any size of drain. Can in theory be adjusted after deployment (although the mechanism can be quite stiff), and protects the skin at the drain entry site. When cutting the plastic down to size after the drain is secured I would recommend rounding off the sharp end with scissors to avoid skin damage.

This is now almost the only fixation device we use. The cable tie type grip is adjustable for almost any catheter and gives a really secure anchor to any drainage tube.
