MANTA is an investigational device in the US and not available for sale.
Essential Medical, Inc. has developed this femoral artery closure devices intended to seal femoral punctures following vascular access medical procedures requiring a cardiac catheterisation. MANTA is designed to close large bore punctures (10-18F) following procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (AAA/PVAR) and balloon aortic valvuloplasty (BAV).
According to the manufacturer, MANTA is an ‘anchor/plug’ sealing technology which uses absorbable biomaterials with the advantage of x-ray visibility and improved deployment control. They say that MANTA employs novel deployment methods never previously used for puncture closure.
